Rice Bran Wax is a natural, high-melting-point wax extracted from the oil of rice bran. It is commonly used in cosmetic and personal care products to thicken and structure oil phases, stabilize emulsions, and add body to balms and sticks. It’s a popular vegan alternative to beeswax and a great option for formulating clean, plant-based products.
Rice Bran Wax is a natural vegetable wax obtained during the winterization of rice bran oil. It has a smooth texture, high melting point, and film-forming ability that makes it an excellent thickener and structuring agent in a variety of personal care formulations.
Because of its high melting point, Rice Bran Wax should be combined with softer waxes or oils for smoother glide and better pourability. Start with 1%–5% in emulsions or 5%–10% in sticks for optimal performance.
Incorporate into the oil phase and heat thoroughly until fully melted. Combine with other waxes and emollients to adjust final hardness and texture.
