What It Does

Ergothioneine is one of the few cosmetic antioxidants with a dedicated cellular uptake pathway. Skin cells can actively transport Ergothioneine via the OCTN1 transporter, allowing it to be retained within cells and support long-term antioxidant defense rather than remaining surface-bound.

• Recommended finished-formula pH range: ~5.0–6.5
• Compatible with niacinamide, panthenol, ectoin, hyaluronic acid, peptides, and most botanical extracts
• Does not typically cause discoloration or instability in finished products
