FD&C Blue 1 Aluminum Lake is produced by depositing a water-soluble dye onto an inert substrate, creating a pigment-like material that performs reliably in oil and wax systems. Unlike straight dyes, lake pigments minimize migration and bleeding, allowing for controlled, stable color in anhydrous formulations.
