INCI Name: Tocopherol

Solubility: Oil-soluble
Usage Rate: 0.1% – 2%
Function: Antioxidant, skin protector, anti-aging agent, formulation stabilizer
Natural Vitamin E Oil (USP Grade) is a highly concentrated form of tocopherol that protects skin from oxidative stress while improving the shelf life of oils in cosmetic formulations. It supports skin healing, helps reduce visible signs of aging, and conditions dry or damaged skin.
Natural Vitamin E Oil is a skin-friendly antioxidant that helps combat free radicals, reduce inflammation, and prevent premature skin aging. Beyond skincare benefits, it stabilizes carrier oils, improves shelf life, and protects sensitive ingredients in oil-based formulations. USP Grade indicates high purity and pharmaceutical-quality standards.
Add during the cool-down phase of emulsions or into oil phases. Avoid overheating to preserve antioxidant activity. Use at low percentages to enhance the oxidative stability of lipid-rich products.

It provides antioxidant protection to the skin and also slows oxidation of oils in formulas. In short, it helps formulas last longer and improves moisturization and comfort on skin.
USP / Cosmetic Grade is purified and standardized for topical use. Dietary soft gels often include excipients, gelatin, or carrier oils that aren’t suitable for cosmetic formulations.
Natural Vitamin E (d-alpha) has higher bioactivity on skin but is typically pricier. Synthetic (dl-alpha) is cost-effective and consistent. Both deliver antioxidant and skin-conditioning benefits.
No. Vitamin E slows lipid oxidation but doesn’t prevent microbial growth. Use a proper preservative system when water is present.
At higher levels (>2–3%) tocopherol’s viscosity can weigh down textures. Many formulators use 0.5–2% to boost antioxidant protection without affecting sensorials.
It pairs well with Vitamin C and Coenzyme Q10. Vitamin C can help regenerate oxidized Vitamin E, while Vitamin E protects oil phases where water-soluble antioxidants are less effective.
Tocopherol is naturally viscous and may crystallize in cold storage. Allow it to return gently to room temperature to restore clarity and flow.
Vitamin E delays oxidation but can’t stop it in highly unstable oils (e.g., very unsaturated lipids). Combine with chelators (like EDTA), airtight/opaque packaging, and other antioxidants.
