Tridecyl Trimellitate (TDTM) is a rich, cushiony ester oil that delivers structure, creaminess, and excellent wear in lipsticks, balms, and color products. It helps bind pigments, improve payoff, and boost comfort without greasiness or shine. TDTM also offers excellent oxidative stability and is widely used in high-performance makeup.
TDTM is known for its exceptional adhesion and transfer resistance, making it ideal for long-wearing and high-pigment color products. It reduces drag, enhances creaminess, and helps retain structure in both stick and pot formulas. It pairs well with waxes and film formers, offering a balanced glide and non-tacky after-feel.
Use in the oil phase of lip and color cosmetic formulations. Combine with waxes (e.g. ozokerite, candelilla) to build structure and adjust melting point. Recommended for use with volatile oils or esters in long-wear blends.
