High-performance silicone film former for long-wear and transfer resistance.

INCI Name: Trimethylsiloxysilicate (and) Cyclopentasiloxane

Composition: 50% Trimethylsiloxysilicate resin in 50% Cyclopentasiloxane (D5)

Appearance: Clear, viscous liquid

Typical Usage: 1–30%

Function: Film former, adhesion enhancer, water-resistance agent

CDF Flake Resin Liquid is a ready-to-use MQ silicone resin solution designed to deliver durable, flexible films with excellent adhesion and wear resistance. As the volatile silicone carrier evaporates after application, a smooth, continuous resin film remains, enhancing transfer resistance, gloss, and overall product longevity.

Common Applications

  • Long-wear foundations, primers, and complexion products
  • Transfer-resistant lipsticks, liquid lips, and glosses
  • Waterproof mascaras and eyeliners
  • BB and CC creams
  • Hair serums, shine sprays, and frizz-control products
  • Sunscreens and body glow formulations

Why Use CDF Flake Resin Liquid?

Trimethylsiloxysilicate is one of the most effective silicone film formers used in modern color cosmetics and long-wear formulations. Delivered here in a volatile silicone carrier, this liquid resin spreads easily during application and forms a thin, flexible, water-resistant film as the carrier evaporates.

Key Benefits

  • Creates strong yet flexible, breathable films
  • Significantly improves adhesion and transfer resistance
  • Enhances gloss, clarity, and pigment payoff
  • Provides a lightweight, non-tacky sensory finish
  • Improves durability and wear time in color cosmetics
  • Acts as a co-solvent for pigments and silicone-compatible actives

Usage Guidelines

  • Typical use level: 1–30%, depending on desired film strength
  • Add to the silicone or oil phase prior to emulsification
  • Compatible with volatile silicones, dimethicone, esters, and isododecane
  • Recommended processing temperature: approximately 40–60 °C

Formulation Notes

  • Blend with isododecane or dimethicone for lighter, faster-drying films
  • Combine with polymethylsilsesquioxane or boron nitride for enhanced slip and soft-focus effects
  • Excellent for transfer-proof lip products and long-wear eye makeup
  • Compatible with pigments, fillers, and many UV filters
