Sclerotium Gum is a naturally derived polysaccharide produced through fermentation. It creates soft, smooth gels and provides gentle thickening in natural skincare and haircare products. Known for its high skin compatibility and silky feel, it is ideal for moisturizers, serums, lotions, and natural emulsions.
Sclerotium Gum is a non-ionic, water-soluble polysaccharide obtained via fermentation of sugar by the Sclerotium rolfsii fungus. It acts as a rheology modifier that forms stable gels with a pleasant, non-tacky finish. It enhances hydration, gives excellent slip, and contributes to emulsion stability especially in natural or sensitive-skin formulations.
Disperse into water under gentle agitation. Allow to hydrate fully (may take 15–30 mins) before adding other ingredients. Combine with other gums (xanthan, carrageenan) for enhanced texture and stability.
Add to water phase with gentle stirring. Heat not required. Hydration improves with time or light shear mixing.
