CDF Cellular Defense E™ is a next-generation aqueous Ergothioneine concentrate engineered for modern “clean” and professional formulations. Ergothioneine is actively transported into cells via the OCTN1 transporter, offering intelligent, long-term antioxidant defense without the instability, discoloration, or formulation challenges common to many antioxidants.

What It Does

Ergothioneine is one of the few cosmetic antioxidants with a dedicated cellular uptake pathway. Skin cells can actively transport Ergothioneine via the OCTN1 transporter, allowing it to accumulate where oxidative stress occurs, rather than remaining surface-bound. • Mixes cleanly into water phases; add during cool-down for best handling.
• Recommended finished-formula pH range: ~4.5–7.0.
• Compatible with niacinamide, panthenol, ectoin, hyaluronic acid, peptides, and most botanical extracts.
• Unlike many antioxidants, Ergothioneine is highly stable and typically does not cause yellowing or browning.
