Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer is a high-performance rheology modifier that delivers exceptional thickening, suspension, and stabilization across a wide range of personal care formulations. Commonly recognized as Carbopol U20, it is used to create crystal-clear gels and luxurious cream textures in both leave-on and rinse-off applications.
This crosslinked synthetic polymer is designed for efficient thickening and suspension in water-based and emulsion systems. It provides excellent flow control, light skin feel, and a glossy gel finish. It also enhances the stability of emulsions and can improve spreadability and texture in skincare and haircare formulations.
Disperse slowly into water with moderate stirring to prevent clumping. After full hydration, neutralize to pH 6–7 using sodium hydroxide or triethanolamine to activate thickening. Can be combined with co-thickeners like xanthan or gums for added control.
Add to water phase with continuous stirring. Avoid introducing high shear before full dispersion. Adjust pH for full viscosity.
