Cyclopentasiloxane is a lightweight, volatile silicone commonly used to provide a silky-smooth feel, quick dry-down, and weightless texture in personal care products. It evaporates without residue, making it ideal for long-wear makeup, dry-touch lotions, hair serums, and primers.
Cyclopentasiloxane (D5) is a cyclic silicone used as a volatile carrier and lightweight emollient. It delivers excellent spreadability and glide, leaves no oily residue, and is compatible with other silicones, esters, and oils. Its evaporative nature makes it perfect for enhancing skin feel and speeding up dry-down time in cosmetic formulations.
Use in the oil phase. Best suited for anhydrous and low-water emulsions. Can be blended with dimethicone or natural esters to balance feel and volatility.
Cold-process friendly. Add to the oil phase or during cool-down of emulsions.
