Carnauba Wax is a natural, high-melting-point wax obtained from the leaves of the Brazilian Carnauba palm. It is widely used in lipsticks, balms, and pressed powders to increase gloss, hardness, and durability—while offering a completely plant-based and vegan alternative to animal-derived waxes.
Carnauba Wax is a vegetable wax harvested from the leaves of the Carnauba palm tree (Copernicia cerifera), known as the “queen of waxes” for its superior hardness, gloss, and thermal stability. It’s often used to enhance shine, create protective films, and build structure in both makeup and skincare formulas.
Due to its high melting point, Carnauba Wax should be combined with lower-melting waxes or emollients for better pourability and feel. Start with 3%–10% in lip formulas and adjust based on hardness or shine needed.
Add to the oil phase and heat until fully melted. Combine with other waxes or butters to adjust final product texture and application feel.
